Delivery Coverage

FIDAR System delivers anywhere in Canada from our warehouse at 601 Magnetic Drive, Unit 29, North York, ON, in two ways. Addresses within 50 km driving distance are served by our own delivery fleet. Everywhere else, the rest of Ontario, Quebec, the Maritimes, the Prairies, British Columbia and the territories, is shipped on a carrier, with the real rates shown to you at checkout so you can choose the service and price that suit you.

We do not ship outside Canada.

Delivery Pricing

Fees are calculated automatically at checkout based on the driving distance from our warehouse to the postal code you enter.

Within 30 km - $29.90 flat rate

Addresses within 30 km of our North York warehouse are served by our own delivery fleet at a flat rate of $29.90 + HST. This zone covers most of Toronto (all M postal codes), the immediately surrounding municipalities, and portions of Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, and Richmond Hill that fall within the radius.

The 30 km boundary is measured as driving distance from our warehouse - it is not based on city or regional boundaries. Your exact fee is confirmed when you enter your postal code at checkout.

30 km to 50 km - Distance-based rate

For addresses between 30 km and 50 km, still on our own fleet, the delivery fee is calculated as:

$30.00 base charge + $2.50 for every km past the first 30

The base charge covers the whole trip, and the per-km rate applies only to the distance beyond the 30 km local zone - so a 50 km address is charged for 20 km, not 50.

Distance is the driving distance from our warehouse to the centre of your postal code area, so it varies with the specific postal code within a city. Example fees:

Barrie (~78 km) - approximately $150.00
Hamilton (~80 km) - approximately $155.00
Kitchener-Waterloo (~103 km) - approximately $212.50
London (~195 km) - approximately $442.50

The exact fee is displayed at checkout before you proceed to payment. Delivery in this zone is inside Ontario, so it carries Ontario HST at 13%.

Beyond 50 km - Carrier freight, priced at checkout

Any address past 50 km is outside the range our own truck runs, so those orders travel with a carrier. Rather than asking you to request a quote and wait, checkout requests live rates for your address and shows them to you: the carrier, the price and the expected transit time. The cheapest is selected for you, and you can re-rank the options by price, speed or the balance of the two and choose any of them.

This applies to every province and territory. A Vancouver, Halifax or Yellowknife address is priced at checkout the same way a Kitchener one is.

The price shown for a carrier shipment covers shipping together with packing and preparation, and that is deliberate. Sheet goods cannot simply be handed to a carrier: every order is crated or palletized, edge-protected, banded and filmed so it survives the journey, and that work is part of what it costs to send. It is included in the figure you see at checkout, and nothing further is added afterwards.

Tax on Delivery

Delivery is taxed at the same rate as the goods it carries, and that rate is the one for the province the order is sent to. A pallet going to Calgary is charged GST 5%, the same as the sheets on it; one going to Halifax is charged HST 14%. Ontario addresses are charged HST 13%.

If you collect from our warehouse instead, the sale is made in Ontario and Ontario HST applies whichever province you are from. Full rates and the reasoning are in section 6 of our Terms & Conditions.

Free Delivery on Orders Over $700

Orders with a subtotal of $700 or more qualify for free delivery. The subtotal is your merchandise total after any discounts, measured before tax and before the delivery fee - the delivery line simply drops to $0.00 at checkout when you qualify.

Free delivery applies only to addresses within 30 km of our North York warehouse - the same zone covered by the $29.90 flat rate above. Orders going beyond 30 km pay the full delivery charge no matter how large the order is.

The perk applies to delivery orders only. Warehouse pickup is free at any order size.

You will receive an email confirmation when your order is ready for pickup. Please bring your order number and valid ID. For heavy or oversized orders, ensure you have appropriate transportation.

Order Processing Times

In-stock orders: Ready to ship or pick up within 1-2 business days
Custom cut-to-size orders: Ready to ship or pick up 2 working days after the order counts as placed (see below), or 1 business day with the rush option
Rush orders: Tick rush at checkout on a cut-to-size order to get it ready in 1 business day, or call (416) 857-7555 before placing any other order to confirm availability

An order placed before 12:00 noon Eastern on a working day counts as placed that day. Orders placed after noon, on weekends or on Ontario public holidays count as placed on the next working day. Working days are Monday to Friday.

Delivery Timelines

Within 30 km (own fleet): Typically next business day after your order is processed
30-50 km (own fleet): Typically 1-2 business days after your order is processed
Beyond 50 km (carrier): The transit time is shown against each service at checkout, so you see it before you choose

All timelines are estimates. FIDAR System is not liable for delays caused by carriers, weather, or circumstances outside our control.

Packing & Preparation

All plastic sheets are shipped with protective masking intact, corner guards, and foam or cardboard interleaving to prevent surface damage in transit. Large or heavy orders are crated or palletized, banded and filmed. Please retain original packaging until your order has been fully inspected.

This preparation is not optional and it is not free: an unprotected sheet does not survive a freight terminal. On carrier shipments the cost of it is already included in the shipping price you are shown at checkout, rather than appearing as a separate handling line afterwards. On our own fleet it is covered by the delivery rate.

Receiving Your Order

Inspect all materials at the time of delivery. If packaging appears visibly damaged, note it on the carrier’s delivery receipt before signing and photograph the damage. Report any issues within 48 hours at info@fidarsystem.com or (416) 857-7555. See our Returns Policy for next steps.
