Hexaben aluminium honeycomb panel

The lightest Bencore panel: an aerospace style aluminium honeycomb under clear or coloured skins.

Aluminium honeycomb panelMade in Carrara, ItalyQuote only19 mm clear in stock

Hexaben pairs an expanded aluminium honeycomb with acrylic or PETG skins. The metal core gives it the highest stiffness for its weight in the Bencore range, and the hexagon reads through the skin as a crisp silver grid, or as a shadow of colour when the skin is tinted. Woods Bagot specified Hexaben Small in three colours for the meeting rooms at Westfield's Los Angeles headquarters, to give privacy without losing daylight.

Two cell sizes change the character of the panel. Hexaben Small has 9 mm cells and reads as a fine mesh. Hexaben Large has 25 mm cells and reads as architecture. Both come in a Plus build, and both come as Hexaben Mirror with a mirrored acrylic skin in bronze, grey, gold or silver.

FIDAR keeps the 19 mm Hexaben clear panel in stock in North York with a published price. Every other Hexaben build, cell size, colour and thickness is quoted on order.

Questions

Hexaben questions

What is the difference between Hexaben Small and Hexaben Large?

The cell. Small is a 9 mm aluminium honeycomb and reads as a fine metallic mesh. Large is 25 mm and reads as a clear hexagonal grid. Large comes in 17 mm as well as 19 and 21; Small in 19 and 21.

Which Hexaben does FIDAR stock?

The 19 mm clear panel in the 1000 by 3015 mm sheet, priced on our shop page as Honeycomb Composite Panels. Everything else in the Hexaben range is ordered from Carrara and quoted.

Can Hexaben be used outdoors?

Treat it as an interior panel unless Bencore confirms the build. The aluminium core does not mind water, but a cut edge or a fixing hole lets moisture into the cells, and a Canadian freeze will find it. Ask us before specifying it outside.

Can I see through a Hexaben panel?

Straight on, yes, through the open cells. At an angle the cell walls block the view, which is the directional privacy Bencore panels are known for. A larger cell gives a wider cone of vision.
